Your Healing Journey: Why Hire a Coach?
People hire a coach because they want to solve a problem or they want more from life. Here are some possible situations you might recognize:
As a survivor of abuse and/or neglect you may experience a variety of physical and emotional reactions described below. These reactions are normal responses to the stress associated with abuse and neglect. You may avoid talking about the abuse or neglect in hopes that it will go away, unfortunately that does not work. The body never forgets. Talking to a trauma coach who is supportive, open, and knowledgeable about abuse/neglect is one of the most important first steps you can take to care for yourself and begin the healing process. Testimonials:
“This was a first for me. I had never been to a life coach before and was completely in the dark about what to expect. Within the first session, I was able to get an idea of the person I was speaking with. Mary is many things: professional, forward, dedicated, and able to see through the smoke and mirrors life has blinded you with. She cares enough to tell you the truth and never gives up on you, even if you have already given up on yourself. May you get as much out of the personal journey as I did. ~ J.S.
“Mary is an empathetic coach. She has the ability to meet you where you are and bring you to insights about yourself through easy conversation. Her ability to withhold judgment brings you to a place where you can safely say the unsaid to move past the thoughts and behaviors that are holding you back.” ~A.R.
“Mary is the most amazing mentor and coach. She’s also a beautiful person who genuinely loves others. Over the past five years, she has given me trusted counsel on both professional and personal issues. She’s so intelligent and wise... a great resource, so I sometimes call her from work to brainstorm through a problem. She is non-judgmental. She makes me think deeper about the ‘why?’ She is hilarious at times, and I always smile and laugh when we talk. She’s helped me become a better person.
Also, recently my son attempted suicide by jumping head-first from a balcony. He had multiple skull fractures and broke his back , but he is alive. Tonight, he heard Mary’s podcast about suicide and he asked to have a coaching session with her. So she is making a difference for my entire family and I’m so thankful for her.” ~A.C.
